Purpose of the Test
Assess stroke and heart disease risk. Also, to investigate deficiencies in vitamins B6, B12, and folate, which are required for homocysteine metabolism, and to evaluate patients with a personal or family history of premature heart disease.
Preparation Required
Fasting for 8 to 12 hours is required before collection.
