Overview:
Physical & chemical urine analysis. A routine test that analyses the physical, chemical, and microscopic properties of urine to assess the health of the urinary tract and detect systemic conditions.
Purpose of the Test
UTI, kidney issues. Used to detect urinary tract infections, kidney disorders, diabetes, dehydration and liver conditions. Commonly requested as part of a routine health screen or to investigate specific symptoms.
Preparation Required
"* Early morning sample preferred.
* A midstream urine sample is required.
* Collect the sample in a clean, dry container provided at booking.
* Avoid excessive fluid intake immediately before collection as this can dilute the sample.
* Inform the professional of any current medications."
